Monday 24th June 2013 - Me and Dominic met up for a discussion on what details we had found out so far for our Travel and Tourism project. Dominic found from his research that an event to Manchester Old Trafford Tour and Museum would be a rather feasible idea and we discussed in detail that its affordable, would be relevant to its targeted customer -Wyke Foundation Students with similar trips being run in previous years, would probably be able to get enough staff to supervise the trip and that we would be probably be able to get funding and transport arrangement from the college through careful planning and application to make the trip affordable to students and feasible. I put forward to Dominic my current proposal business plan of what it would take to run a trip to London for Travel and Tourism Students and how it would work, I demonstrated the positives and negatives of the trip and explained my conclusion on how the trip would be of interest to students but would just overall not be feasible for this particular events project. We chose to look through our ideas for an event that we narrowed down to 5 different different events, I suggested that a theatre trip for college students would be a feasible idea as it would be both enjoyable and educational, could be affordable as there are theatres near by, we would be able to apply for funding and transport for the trip through the college with careful planning and application and it could be relevant and beneficial to a lot of students from different course subjects such as Drama and Theatre Studies, Performing Arts, English Literature, English Language and possible History and Dance, giving students a unique opportunity to see live theatre. I felt that a key idea to make this type of Events trip a success is to discuss this with relevant course subject teachers in order to pick a piece of theatre/performance that will be relevant and beneficial to the current courses of student study. We discussed options of which theatres would be the most relevant, interesting and feasible places to visit such as Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, West Yorkshire Play house in Leeds and the Lowery in Salford. I agreed to research and develop the idea of a Theatre Trip event further in much detail. Dominic decided to continue and develop his research on a trip event to Manchester Old Trafford Museum and Tour.
